Goal Mode
Start from the outcome, not the codec. Written rules, not guesswork: the same file and goal always give the same answer, and every choice comes with its reason.
Example file: holiday.pngPNG · 4032 × 3024 · 9.3 MB
- Size1920 × 1080
- YouTube thumbnail: A 16:9 custom thumbnail that uploads from desktop and mobile.
- Cropfill and crop
- Fills the exact shape; drag the crop position to choose what stays in frame.
- FormatJPEG
- Accepted everywhere and small for photos.
- Size targetunder 2.0 MB
- Up to 50 MB from a desktop browser, 2 MB from the mobile app. We target 2 MB so one file works for both.
- If the image has transparent areas, JPEG fills them with white. Choose PNG to keep transparency.
- The shapes differ, so part of the image is cropped. Move the crop position to choose which part.
Output of the same rules the workspace uses, for this example file.

Questions
Yes, every tool. A planned Pro plan adds larger limits and no ads; it is not meant to lock today’s free tools.
No. Processing happens in your browser. PixelPilot has no file upload server.
Files that are already well compressed can grow when re-encoded. PixelPilot measures every result, says so, and suggests what to try.
JPEG, PNG and WebP in every current major browser. AVIF only appears if your browser can actually encode it.
Yes, in current mobile browsers. Very large images or batches can hit a phone’s memory limit, so sizes and batches are capped.
