Minecraft pack.png maker
Make the square icon that shows next to your resource pack. Pixel art stays sharp because small images are scaled pixel by pixel.

How to use it
- Add your artwork or a screenshot.
- Pick the crop for the square, or pad the image instead.
- Choose a size: 128 × 128 by default. This is an editable default; Mojang doesn’t publish a required size in the sources we checked.
- Download. The file is named pack.png, ready for the root of your pack folder.
Formats and limits
- Opens
- JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), AVIF where your browser decodes it, BMP
- Saves
- PNG
- This makes the icon only. It does not build pack.mcmeta or any other part of a resource pack.
- Bedrock Edition uses pack_icon.png; rename the file if that’s what you need.
About these dimensions
- Must be a PNG named pack.png in the pack’s root folder (Java Edition).
- The sources we checked do not state a required pixel size. Square 64–256 px is common practice; this preset is an editable default.
- Bedrock Edition uses pack_icon.png instead.

Minecraft pack icon questions
The documentation we checked describes pack.png as the image shown in the pack menu without fixing a size. Square images are expected; 64–256 px is common. Treat our default as a starting point.
For small images PixelPilot uses nearest-neighbour scaling, which copies pixels instead of blending them. You can switch to smooth scaling for photos.
